Kenosha Sand Dunes

Situated at the northernmost portion of Chiwaukee Prairie, the Kenosha Sand Dunes offer unparalleled views of Lake Michigan. Here you can admire the boats sailing through while you relax.

In addition to sensational views, the dunes are home to various rare and geographically constrained plants, birds, invertebrates, and mammals, making it a nature lover’s paradise. In fact, the area is known to host more than 75 species of grassland and wetland birds that can be spotted during breeding season, as well as 26 rare plant species, including 10 which are listed as endangered.

Simmons Island Beach & Park

For the lighthouse lover in you, be sure to visit the Southport LIght Station Museum on Simmons Island in nearby Kenosha. You'll find free area parking, picnic sites, and beach access to enjoy as well.
