Traveling
The vast majority of Pleasant Prairie is south of Highway 50 and north of the Illinois border - a mere 20 minutes from Gurnee, IL (and Six Flags Great America.) While you can’t see Lake Michigan from everywhere in the Village, it’s here, waiting for you just a short 15-minute drive from I-94.
If you are traveling from Milwaukee, or General Mitchell International Airport (MKE), driving directions couldn’t be simpler. It’s just a straight shot south on I-94 East. Look for Exit 345 and continue to Wilmot Road. You’ll find yourself driving on 104th Avenue in Pleasant Prairie in no time.
City to Prairie
You’ll find it’s just as easy to make the trek from Chicago. Escape urban gridlock by hopping on I-94 West, heading north. Exit at Hwy 165 and head east to enjoy the outdoors - and great discount shopping at the Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlet Mall. For those of you joining us for sporting events, or a little outdoor recreation, continuing east on HWY 165 will take you past the RecPlex and straight to Sheridan Road. It’s that simple. If you’ve just arrived at O’Hare International Airport (ORD), be sure to keep in mind that the main highway north (I-94) is a tollway. If you don’t have an iPass, you can pay online.
Fancy the scenic route?
Take Sheridan Road from either Kenosha or Chicago. Traveling from Illinois along the lakeshore, you will pass Waukegan Harbor and Illinois Beach State Park. Coming from the north, you’ll pass the Kenosha Sand Dunes. Give yourself time to explore and take in all the sights while you’re in the area using our handy map!

Pleasant Prairie has five great hotels to choose from and all are very conveniently located just off of I-94. Take your pick of a DoubleTree by Hilton, Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott, Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Days Inn by Wyndham or a Super 8 by Wyndham.
Whether you are interested in the outdoors, great eateries, or fun activities for the whole family, Pleasant Prairie is always worth the trip.
